Word of the Week - Draconian

by Lotta Sanchez on 2023-05-09T10:00:00-04:00 | 0 Comments

Word of the Week. Draconian. Adjective. 1. Law: of, relating to, or characteristic of Draco or the severe code of laws held to have been framed by him. 2. cruel

This Draco is not the character from the Harry Potter series. He was the first recorded legislator in ancient Athens, Greece. Because his laws were so harsh towards the citizens, any law today that is considered harsh is described as Draconian.
