Welcome to our Podcasting/Streaming Setup

The Podcasting and Streaming setup is available to all students, faculty, and staff members. It can be used as a therapeutic way of documenting your life, putting together a podcast, streaming to twitch, or to help with club meetings/events .

We have just started our adventure into podcasting and streaming this year but we have staff members that are experienced and have been doing this for years. We will listen to your ideas and make them a reality.

Make an Appointment

The HCCC Library has been thinking of making a Podcasting/Streaming station even before 2020. Now in Gabert Library we now have a set up that an help record or broadcast your ideas.

Use of the Podcasting Station is by appointment. You can choose to:

  • Send us your ideas to HCCC Library if you have thoughts and want to try and decide what you'd like to talk about on your podcast.
  • Come on in and just start recording. Library staff members will be there to help with the equipment and provide basic technical support.

To make an appointment, please send an email to the tech team library@hccc.edu or make an appointment online at hccclibrary.libcal.com/appointments/tech. We'll get back to you soon.

Our Equipment

We have invested a lot of time and money figuring out which products to use to give us the most optimal setup to use in our space.

Elgato Stream Deck - This product will help with streaming and recording events. It gives easy control to customizable apps and tools for live streaming or recording. For example, swap from a camera to displaying what's on the screen by pressing a button on the device.

Elgato Wave XLR - This product will help with streaming and recording events. It adds a professional mic to recording and allows for convenient volume control. It also comes with an app to mix Wave XLR with multiple audio sources. Up to 75 dB of ultra-low-noise gain amplifies insensitive mics. It also has 48 V phantom power drives condenser microphones. Students can use it with their own microphone.

Audio-Technica AT2020 - The AT2020 is an affordable microphone offering versatile features. This mic delivers unmatched sound and reliable performance without any unwanted background noise. We plan to use with the Elgato Wave XLR to help with podcasting, Twitch or Zoom events, or live performances in the library. Students can use it for recording/podcasting as needed.

Elgato Cam Link 4K - External Camera Capture Card.
