What is ESL?
ESL stands for English as a Second Language and is a type of language instruction for non-native English speakers. ESL classes teach students the basics of the English language, such as grammar, pronunciation, and vocabulary. ESL classes can also teach students cultural information and other skills that are necessary for living in an English speaking country. ESL classes are offered at many schools, colleges, universities, and language programs, including here at Hudson County Community College.
