Kanopy User Guide

1. Go to Kanopy by clicking https://hccc.kanopy.com/ in your web browser.

2.  Click the Log In To HCCC button.

3. Click the Log In To HCCC button again in the middle of the screen.

4. Fill out your HCCC username and password. Then click the login button.

After a successful login, you're ready to go.

Films on Kanopy can be found in the following ways:

1. Browsing by subject

Use the "Browse Subjects" dropdown feature at the top of the website to navigate to find films on particular topics.

2. Searching by keywords

Use the search box to search for a topic, film title, filmmaker, or person.

1. Hover your mouse over the desired video, then left click to enter the video page.

2. Click on the Play button to play it.

Closed Captions (optional)

Hover your mouse over the CC icon that appears at the bottom right of the video player and select English (or another language if available). You will then see the closed captions appear along the bottom of the screen.

1. Click on a video you'd like to recommend to enter the video page.

2. Click on the Share button.

3. Copy the Share link and paste to share. To share to your social media, select a media icon and follow the steps.

To embed a film :

1. Click the "Share" button that appears below the video player and select the Embed tab.

2. Copy the HTML code that appears in the box and paste it into CANVAS or other websites.
