Speech is an important form of communication that has been used by humans for a long time. It is the vocal expression of our thoughts, feelings, ideas and opinions. Speech is used to interact, inform, persuade and entertain. It is the primary way that we connect with other people and build relationships. Speech is also a powerful tool for expression and it can be used to express our emotions, beliefs, values, and opinions. Because of this, it is important for people to develop strong speaking skills and to practice good communication.
On the left hand navigation, you will see several pages. These pages are organized to help you find appropriate information using articles, encyclopedias, books, and websites. Additionally, you can find tools to help you assess the information that you find to better understand facts vs. opinions, misinformation (fake news), and find trusted news outlets online.
Databases for Articles: find articles, case studies, news stories, and ebooks from scholarly/academic databases
Encyclopedias: online encyclopedias that offer information on a variety of topics and subjects
Books: search the HCCC catalog for books and other media at Gabert and NHC libraries
