Citation Managers

Citation managers are helpful tools you can use to make citation an easier process for you. You will still need to be aware of the basics of whatever citation style you are using when you use a citation tool.

NoodleTools

NoodleTools is an easy to use citation manager that allows you to quickly export citations into project folders you create. It will automatically create bibliographies (Works Cited, Reference lists, Annotated Bibliographies) in a variety of formats - MS Word Online or desktop version, etc. This tool is provided through HCCC and is connected with your Microsoft 365 account. Zotero

Zotero is a more advanced citation manager than NoodleTools and takes a little longer to learn and set up. It allows you to create, name, and move around folders and sub-folders to store citations in. You can set up the Zotero connector to cite webpages by clicking on an icon in your browser toolbar. There is a plug-in that allows you to use Zotero within MS Word and Google Docs. This tool is free for anyone to use, so it may be a good option if you are planning to keep using your citations after you leave HCCC. Click the link above to visit Zotero user guide and get started!
