A guide on how to use Microsoft Office and its functions. Browse through the guides to pick an Office program
As a student, staff, or faculty of HCCC, your @live.hccc.edu or @hccc.edu account allows you access to a complete download of Office 365 for offline use in your computer (you can also use Office online through your HCCC portal). In order to activate it after downloading, you will need to sign in with your HCCC username and password.
Note: Office 365 can only be downloaded through Windows and Mac computers. For users with a Chromebook, only Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point are available through the Google Play Store. You can use Google Docs or Office 365 online instead as an alternative.
From your Outlook email, click on the squares at the top left of the screen.
Click on Office 365 link at the top right of the menu.
It will direct you to the page where you can work on Office Online documents. To the right of the screen you will see "Install Office".
On the drop down menu click "Office 365 apps" which will include all applications.
Depending on your computer OS, follow the steps to install Office 365.
Once you are able to save the file, wait for the programs to download in your computer.
Another dialog box will come up to let you know that Office 365 has been installed. For Windows 7/10 users, click the Start menu to see all the apps. They will be listed alphabetically by name. For Mac OSX and macOS users, click the Launchpad icon to view all Office apps on your desktop.
After downloading the program, you will need to activate Office 365 with your HCCC account, otherwise you will not be able to work and save documents.
